Status of the Work in Erstfeld

The east cut-and-cover tunnel has reached 438 m, the west cut-and-cover tunnel 370 m. On the east side, construction of the invert in the area of the preparatory cut continues. This has necessitated dismantling of the tunnel railway. The east tunnel can now only be reached via the west tunnel and the logistical cross passage.

Lining work in the east tunnel is progressing according to plan. 4,271 metres, or 63%, are concreted. At the same time in the west tunnel, the inner lining is being concreted with two lining machines.

In the expansion of the branchoff construction west, approximately 330 m of the total of 400 m have been excavated. In the branchoff construction east, inner lining work, with invert, piers and vault, is in progress.
